  • Unresolved Whether a session may be streamed or recorded is not known. The library’s Photography and Recordings Policy (October 15, 2025) counts live streaming as a recording. Its full text was not retrieved. Mike to confirm #3

  • Unresolved On October 15, 2025 the Library Board approved a change to its meeting-room policy. A Code of Conduct draft in the July 15, 2026 packet (PDF p.21) says solicitation and canvassing are not permitted on library property, and that exceptions require approval from Library management. Whether either affects a small neighbor meeting in a booked room has not been confirmed. The library director is the person to ask. Mike to confirm #7

A proposal. Questions only.

What a session could look like

Nothing here is decided. These are ideas from the research notes and questions for neighbors and for Mike. Mike to confirm #5

  • Evenings, Monday to Thursday, when the library is open late.
  • Open to everyone.
  • One posted question for the night.
  • Afterward, a posted summary and the next date, within a set time.

Questions to answer together

  • What should we ask?
  • Which night and what time would work for you?
  • Who is not in the room yet, and how do we reach them?
  • Should there be a sign-in sheet at all, or can anyone just walk in?
  • How would you like to share an idea: out loud, on paper or both?
  • How soon after a session should the summary be posted, and where?
  • Would you like live captions or a written transcript?
  • What would make the room easy to reach and easy to be in for you?
  • If city staff or a city body joins, who do we ask about meeting-notice rules?

Can’t come? Ideas could also go in the idea box. It is a picture for now and does not work yet.

Mike to confirm (remove before publishing)
  1. Mike to confirm #1. The plan line: “listening sessions at Mead Library, citizens first.” The crew brief says “meetings at Mead Library”; the research brief says “listening sessions.” Which name do you want?
  2. Mike to confirm #2. Date, time, room, host and format are TBD. Nothing has been booked (the research notes say nothing was sent or booked). Who should contact the library, and when?
  3. Mike to confirm #3. Library meeting-room rules, any fees, the booking limit and the recording/streaming policy are Unresolved. The policy page did not load. Please read the current text before any announcement.
  4. Mike to confirm #4. Do you want the “other cities” examples of resident-led meetings from the research brief? They were left out of this page.
  5. Mike to confirm #5. Open to everyone and a posted question are design ideas from the research brief, not decisions.
  6. Mike to confirm #6. The small “Future of the World” meeting at Mead Library comes from your note relayed on October 4, 2026. It is not in any source file. Name, wording, date, time and which room are all yours to confirm. No room details were invented.
  7. Mike to confirm #7. The Unresolved line about the October 15, 2025 Board change and the July 15, 2026 Code of Conduct draft (PDF p.21) is neutral and documented, with no opinion. The library page now says it was updated September 30, 2026, and only the July draft was read. Keep it, cut it, or ask the library director first?
