Talk to Mike

Say hi. Tell me your idea.

Here’s the website. Talk to me. Mike to confirm #15

Placeholder. Not connected. Coming soon: Mike picks the channel

TODO for Mike (review before anything is turned on) Mike to confirm #16
This box is inert. Nothing you type is sent or saved, and there is no contact detail here on purpose. Mike has to approve a real channel first.

Shared vision

Ideas I’d love your help with

Yours first. Then mine.

Your ideas first

Placeholder. Nothing is collected. Mike to confirm #17

Five questions to start the conversation. They are questions, not answers.

  • What would get you out of the house in January?
  • What place along the lake do you love just as it is?
  • Where do you wish there were a bench, a bathroom or a bit of shade?
  • What would make getting around easier for you?
  • Where would you put a swing?

Answers will have somewhere to go once Mike picks the channel in the Talk to Mike box.

Then mine

Four ideas, offered as invitations. Each one is a proposal, and each one starts from what exists now.

  • The Geode

Exists now: Rotary Riverview Park is owned by the City and covers 2.7 acres. Source: RESULT-site-restrictions-2026-10-03.md, line 59 Mike to confirm #18

The idea adds: A crystal cut into the hill.

What would you want to find on the free floor?

This is a proposal. See the page →

  • The free bus grid

Exists now: Shoreline Metro has 9 regular routes plus 1 seasonal route, and all routes meet at the downtown Transfer Station. A single trip costs $2.00. Source: RESULT-transit-downtown-fact-base-2026-10-03.md, lines 34, 35, 44 Mike to confirm #18

The idea adds: A heated, frequent, free loop.

Where would you ride it to?

This is a proposal. See the page →

  • Swings and play

Exists now: Deland Park, North Point Park and Vollrath Park along Broughton Drive are all City-owned. Source: RESULT-site-restrictions-2026-10-03.md, lines 50, 60, 61, 62 Mike to confirm #18

The idea adds: A dozen big swings on one painted line.

Would you take a swing for ten seconds, because you can?

This is a proposal. See the page →

  • The January festival

Exists now: The seasonal bus, Route 40, is on the road from mid-June to the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, serving downtown, the riverfront, the lakefront and South Pier. Source: RESULT-transit-downtown-fact-base-2026-10-03.md, line 34 Mike to confirm #18

The idea adds: Most lakefronts shut their doors in October. Sheboygan keeps them open.

Which night would you come out for?

This is a proposal. See the page →

Grounded in what’s real

What’s real today

Before the dream, the documents. Each line names the file and the line it came from.

The dream is the fun part. The documents are the grown-up part. We need both.

Show up. Say hi.

Public budget dates from city documents: October 14, 2026 (budget review, with a public hearing on the budget) and November 2, 2026 (the 2027 budget and capital plan are adopted).

Wave at a neighbor. Waving is free.

Come on in. The water’s fine, and every word of it will be on the record. Mike to confirm #10

Review note for Mike (remove before publishing)

Every line about you carries a “Mike to confirm” marker. Jokes claim no fact. The “Talk to Mike” box and the idea prompts are inert placeholders: nothing is sent, saved or collected, and no contact detail is shown. The “Exists now” lines are documented lines from the fact pages, each shown with its source. This page asks readers for nothing but their ideas, and even that is switched off. Earlier landing blocks were removed or moved (see CONTENT-AUDIT section 8).

  1. Mike to confirm #9. The seven beliefs. The titles are your confirmed list; the one-line explanations are taken from your Open Water text and the one-city master plan draft. OK with the wording?
  2. Mike to confirm #10. The “why” lines and a few others are your words from the Open Mic 001 script (Sept 30). Do you still want them said this way?
  3. Mike to confirm #12. “Yes, I’m the goofy one” on TikTok. Sources: Chief of Staff and profile notes (“goofy style”, a SheVegas TikTok account). Keep, change or cut?
  4. Mike to confirm #13. Photos: the boardwalk picture is the one already used on /open-water/, credited to you. The portrait is a labeled placeholder. Please supply one approved photo of you (you choose; kids’ photos are OK when you say so).
  5. Mike to confirm #14. Tone and jokes: all jokes were written to claim no fact (including the Packers line). Are they the right kind of goofy for you?
  6. Mike to confirm #15. The new landing lines “Here’s the website. Talk to me.”, “I just want to be part of it. A neighbor, saying hi.” and “I’m having fun, and I’m happy to be here.” come from your reframe as relayed by Grok Bot on Oct 4, not from a text you wrote. Keep, change or cut?
  7. Mike to confirm #16. The “Talk to Mike” box is a placeholder with no real channel: nothing is sent, saved or collected, and no contact detail is shown. Pick the channel (who reads it, what is kept, what is promised back) before anything is turned on.
  8. Mike to confirm #17. The five idea prompts for residents (for example “What would get you out of the house in January?”) are questions only and nothing is collected. Right questions? Who reads the answers once a channel exists?
  9. Mike to confirm #18. The “Exists now” lines on the four idea cards are my picks of DOCUMENTED lines from the fact pages (park ownership, bus routes and fare, parks along Broughton Drive, the seasonal bus). They state facts about the city, not about you. Better pairings?
