The Snoid
R. Crumb dreamed him up in the winter of '65. A little devil, all mischief, no apologies. The Snoid showed up in Zap Comix and never really left. He says the rude things and does the wrong things, and somehow he tells the truth doing it.
Crumb called the Snoids the dark, giggling things at the edge of life. The stuff polite people pretend isn't there. He drew them anyway.
I tip my hat to that. I'm not a Snoid. I just like that somebody drew what nobody wanted to look at.
